Often shortened to REME, or referred to as the Army’s ‘Professional Engineers’, the Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers is quite a large regiment of around 8,000 permanent personnel, since they have significant quantities of equipment to maintain. This is a quality Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers Beret Cap Badge in impressive gold and silver colours.

The REME’s badge design is a fascinating one which stands out amongst other regimental insignia – showing a rearing horse (not a unicorn and white coloured on non-metallic badges, here in silver on the beret cap badge) with a bolt of lightening in the background, to signify the Engineer’s skill with all things electrical. Around the horse’s neck is a coronet of fleur-de-lys and a metal chain seems to attach it to the globe – to illustrate this regiment’s control of power. The banner shows the ‘R.E.M.E’ initials below the Queen’s crown.
